Governed by Peace, Ruled by Well-Being
How Isaiah 60:17 Redefines Life, Purpose, and Service Through God's Promise
Hey, Survivor Beauties and Wellness Warriors!
"I will make peace your governor and well-being your ruler."– Isaiah 60:17"
This scripture rests heavily on my heart as I navigate my journey of discipleship and service, seeking to glorify the Lord in all I do. It’s more than a verse—it’s a guiding principle for how I live, serve, and pour into others. It reminds me that God's ultimate desire for us is to live in peace and walk in well-being.
Yet, life has a way of testing this truth. Trials, strife, and the relentless whispers of the enemy often seek to uproot the peace God has promised us. They plant seeds of doubt, anxiety, and insecurity, leaving us to wrestle with feelings of inadequacy and confusion. These lies can dismantle the very foundation of our well-being, pulling us further from the peace that God commands over our lives.
But Isaiah 60:17 boldly declares that peace is not just a fleeting feeling—it is our governor. Well-being is not a luxury—it is our ruler. God Himself has decreed this for His children, and He does not speak in vain. His words are a promise, a covenant, and an anchor for those of us who seek to walk in His light.
Too often, hesitation, procrastination, and lack of preparation become the tools the enemy uses to paralyze us. This paralysis tends to bleed through generations, causing both your parents and your grandchildren to be stuck in the same places if no one breaks the chain. These mindsets keep us stuck, constantly second-guessing our purpose and our ability to move forward. But as I reflect on this scripture, I am reminded of God’s ultimate assurance: He is the Master Planner.
God is not a God of chaos or confusion but of clarity and order. His peace isn’t just a feeling; it’s a directive—a divine instruction that we are meant to carry into every decision, every relationship, and every season of our lives.
When we align ourselves with this truth, we disarm the enemy’s attempts to derail us. Peace becomes the lens through which we make decisions, and well-being becomes the standard by which we measure the health of our lives, families, and communities.
God’s Vision for Gold, Not Stones
Isaiah 60:17 speaks to a divine exchange: replacing lesser things with greater ones, stones with gold, iron with silver. This is the abundant life God desires for us—not just materially, but spiritually and emotionally. God’s intention is that every part of our lives reflects His glory and goodness.
As I disciple and serve, my mission is clear: to remind others that peace and well-being are not optional—they are ordained. You were not created to live in turmoil or to accept anything less than the fullness of what God has for you.
Walking in Peace and Well-Being
I encourage you to take this scripture to heart. Reflect on the areas of your life where peace has been replaced by fear, and where well-being has been overshadowed by stress. Ask yourself: What lies have I allowed to take root in my mind? What truths does God want to plant there instead?
The Lord’s peace is your inheritance, and His well-being is your foundation. Don’t let the enemy convince you otherwise. Walk boldly in the truth that you are governed by peace and ruled by well-being.
As I serve others—whether through my advocacy, my words, or my walk with Christ—I carry this scripture as my defining call. It is my prayer that you, too, will embrace the fullness of Isaiah 60:17 and step into the abundant life God has prepared for you.
Let peace be your guide and well-being your compass. Trust the One who insures our lives with grace, mercy, and unwavering love.
With grace and gratitude,
Tiera Richardson
